Haiku Deck
Haiku Deck is great free tool for creating stunning presentations for sharing online. Available for web based applications and as an iPad app. I’ve found an old posting from my favourite EdTech guy RIchard Byrne from a couple of years ago. This posting includes 76 examples of Haiku Deck being used in the classroom.
Anatomy 4D. Through this free app and a simple printed image, Anatomy 4D transports students, teachers, medical professionals, and anyone who wants to learn about the body into an interactive 4D experience of human anatomy. Tiny Tap is a free App thich allows you to create your own educational games on both iPads and Android devices.
BigHugeLabs. Their Trading Card generator allows you to create trading cards about people, places, and events both real and fictional. Great as personal or collaborative study tools, or for a final product for an assignment. Grammar Flip is an interactive, online resource aimed at helping students of all abilities learn, practice, and master English grammar concepts. Teachers can create classrooms inside GrammarFlip for creating and tracking student progress.
In the better late than never category, I realised that this was what I meant to post last week… The Hour of Code. Dec 7-13 is Computer Science Education Week, and the Hour of Code attempts to get everyone, young and old, engaged in some simple coding exercises to see just how easy it can be.
